Talk about the MA Chidambaram Stadium and one cannot avoid mentioning the accolades of MS Dhoni. In addition to amassing 1,431 runs at 42, he has inflicted 53 dismissals.

Over the past few seasons, KL Rahul has feasted on the Chennai attack, accumulating 435 runs at 44 – of which 235 runs at 59 have come as a captain.

Since September 2022, Mark Wood has never gone wicketless in a competitive T20 match. Such has been his impact that he has hunted down 24 wickets in eight attempts, including as many as five three-fors and one five-for.

Ruturaj Gaikwad‘s recent form augurs well for Chennai. In his last 10 professional T20s, he piled on 462 runs including 60 boundaries.

Krunal Pandya has provided points one way or the other against Chennai: 130 runs, seven wickets, and five catches.

When these teams met last year, Shivam Dube smashed 49 off 30. His recent form too is encouraging: 205 runs at 51 and seven wickets in his last 10 outings.

Deepak Chahar has been Chennai’s best new-ball bowler (48 wickets) for the past three editions. At the venue, he has 10 wickets to his credit including the best figures of three for 20.

Given the sticky wicket at Chepauk, Deepak Hooda‘s off-spin could test the Chennai southpaws.

Ravi Bishnoi (nine wickets) and Ravindra Jadeja (79 runs, four wickets, and two catches) are the only players from their respective teams to feature in the Best11 for the last five T20s.

In four outings against Chennai, Marcus Stoinis went wicketless and added only 57 runs.

In the last three games at the venue, spinners took 67% of the wickets.
