Asia Cup 2022 Schedule, Full Squads, & Venues

The 15th Edition of the Asia Cup is all set to start on August 27 in the UAE. The hosts Sri Lanka will play the opening match against Afghanistan, and the final will be played on September 11.

• The main tournament will have six teams divided into two groups.
• India, Pakistan, and one of the qualified teams are part of Group A. Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan form Group B. 
• Each team will play within the group once.
• The top two teams of the group qualify for the Super 4 round, where they play against each other.
• The top two would play in the finals.

However, India couldn’t repeat those heroics again at the biggest stage and apart from managing a runners-up position in 2014, they have failed to come even close to the coveted T20 World Cup trophy. Under Virat Kohli, India’s performance in the 2021 T20 World Cup proved disappointing for the fans as they got knocked out of the tournament after suffering losses in their first two fixtures of the event.

In the 2022 edition, they will be led by Rohit Sharma who began his tenure as India’s T20I captain with series wins over Sri Lanka and West Indies.
