Teams

Probable XI for London: Zak Crawley, Adam Rossington (wk), Glenn Maxwell, Daniel Lawrence, Eoin Morgan (c), Kieron Pollard, Liam Dawson, Jordan Thompson, Nathan Ellis, Mason Crane, Chris Wood

Probable XI for Manchester: Jos Buttler (c), Philip Salt (wk), Wayne Madsen, Laurie Evans, Andre Russell, Ashton Turner, Paul Walter, Sean Abbott, Tom Hartley, Fred Klaassen, Matthew Parkinson

Power Players

Time away from the game didn’t make much difference to Andre Russell as he smashed a 20-ball 29 and later produced an impressive spell with the ball. Besides picking a wicket, he conceded only 25 runs in 15 balls.

Eoin Morgan might have retired from international cricket, but his 47 off 29 balls was vital in helping London reach a competitive total of 170. In the process, he also generated handy fantasy bonus points for smashing 5 fours and 3 sixes.

Although Manchester lost their opening game, Jos Buttler’s 59 off 41 balls made a huge difference in fantasy leagues.

Smart Picks

Nathan Ellis continues to impress in the shorter versions of the game. His three-wicket haul was instrumental in helping London restrict the Oval Invincibles. He set the tempo by dismissing the dangerous Jason Roy off the very first ball.

Glenn Maxwell and Kieron Pollard kept the fantasy players in the game by scoring 18 and 19* respectively. It is only a matter of time before these two modern-day giants start setting the stage on fire with their all-round ability.

Wayne Madsen has been experiencing a purple patch with the bat this summer. Since the one-off T20I against India, he has added 338 runs at 48 in competitive cricket, including an innings of 43 in the opening game of 100.

Besides taking the solitary wicket of David Willey, Matthew Parkinson also bowled 4 dot balls. A few weeks ago, he bagged a four-wicket haul against Hampshire in the English T20 League.

Match Preview

Both teams have played a game each till now. While London came out victorious against Oval, Manchester went down to Superchargers. However, given the nature of the format and the overall balance of both sides, one can expect a riveting clash.
