Game Changers

Tim David’s six-hitting speciality will be used especially towards the end of the innings. In the 2021 edition, he hammered 282 runs at an average of 35 and a strike rate of 146.

Roston Chase, the top run-getter of the 2021 edition, has not done anything worth glorifying, but he has looked in good touch with both bat and ball. His numbers in the format are impressive: 833 runs and 25 wickets in 36 T20s.

Smart Fantasy Picks

Sandeep Lamichhane’s form has been—for the lack of a better word—spectacular. In the five-T20I series against Nepal, he picked up 12 wickets at an average of 11.2, maintaining an economy of under 6 RPO. In the ODIs against Scotland and Namibia, he had managed 11 wickets in four games.

Much of Jamaica’s success is attributed to Mohammad Amir and Nicholson Gordon. The pacers have taken a three-wicket haul each in two games, bowling exceedingly well in tandem. Gordon’s form especially has been incredible: he has managed 10 wickets in the last five T20s.

Scott Kuggeleijn is often employed as a strike bowler. He has variations in his armoury, and more importantly, knows when to use them. His figures read 1 for 26 and 2 for 37. He can also be sent up the order in pursuit of quick runs.

Miguel Pretorius, who shot to fame in the 2021 edition, has identical figures of 2 for 35 in two games. He does much of the damage in the middle overs. 58 wickets in 40 T20s indicate that he is a natural wicket-taker.

Fantasy Power Picks

Faf du Plessis must be relieved after the swaggering knock of 47* off 20 on Sunday, especially after the topsy-turvy time in the Men’s 100 League. The change in conditions seemed to have lifted his confidence. After all, he was the fourth-highest run-scorer (277 runs) of the previous season.

Alzarri Joseph has been doing it all this season. In the first game, he took 4 for 17 and his knock of 9 runs included a six. In the second contest, he racked up 2 for 31 and his 29* runs, at No.6, came in a mere 18 deliveries. His batting has evolved so much that he batted ahead of Tim David and David Wiese.

With 121 runs at a strike rate of 148, Brandon King is the highest run-scorer of the season. In his last eight competitive T20 games, he has scored three fifties and a thirty.

Fantasy Tip of The Day

Both teams boast of quality batters and strike bowlers, indicating that we are likely to see an even battle between the bat and ball. The conditions, however, suggest that batting is easier in the first innings. Balancing your teams likewise could keep you in the hunt.
